Koumbit Job Offer: Web developer

Koumbit is a Montre-based non-profit organization seeking to both empower community groups and to develop a collaborative and participative workplace. Koumbit has been growing steadily for the past two years and we are now looking for workers interested in joining our passionate team. We are looking for people interested in working on web development (mainly Drupal) but also in remodeling their own workplace and participate to the management and democratic life of the organization. This means that we are looking for people with good collaborative skills, interested in getting involved in non-technical as well as strong technical tasks.

The ideal candidate will gather the following skills and qualities:

  • strong experience in PHP and MySQL programming
  • experience in programming and maintaining dynamic websites
  • confortable in communicating directly with customers
  • capable of assuming and respecting commitments autonomously
  • adhere to the collective values of the organization which is collectively-managed and serves also as an educational space: transparency, copyleft, self-sufficiency, solidarity, equity/equality and participatory economics
  • ready to get involved and commit with other workers in an honest and professional attitude
  • available for full time work is an asset
  • Drupal experience is an asset
  • web integration experience (HTML/CSS) is an asset
  • experience in development of free software and "agile" development techniques is an asset

Koumbit follows worker's coop and participatory economics principles. All workers receive an equal pay and we collaboratively decide the management and the direction of the organization. We general operate by consensual decision-making where all workers have a equal say on decisions. We expect working members to actively and creatively get involved in the construction of the organization.

Conditions

  • Minimally 25h/week up to 35h/week depending on worker availability
  • 3 month contract with the possibility of renewal
  • Salary: 21,50$/hour
  • Starting as soon as possible
